Maculele

Maculele is an Afro-Brazilian dance where the dancers hold two sticks in their hands while they are performing.

Originally, Maculele was just like any other dance, it had a choreography, dancers, band players and singers.

The Maculele dance was introduced to the art of Capoeira by Mestre Bimba, he believed that the Maculele dance movements will help Capoeiristas to improve their ginga.

By integrating Maculele as part as the art of Capoeira, Mestre Bimba helped preserving the Maculele dance up to these days. In our days, the Maculele dance is usually  performed  in pairs inside the Capoeira Roda.
